Dow Announces Price Increase for Ethylene Oxide

Midland, MI - September 15, 2005

The Dow Chemical Company will increase its list and off-list selling prices for EO an additional $0.05 per pound in North America, or as otherwise allowed by individual contract terms. This is in addition to the previous increase announced for the October 1 2005, for a total increase of $0.10 per pound.

"Rising raw material, energy, and logistical costs that have resulted from the impact of Hurricane Katrina, as well as continued tight supply and strong demand for EO have made this additional increase necessary" said John O. Smith, Commercial Manager, Dow EO and Higher Glycols.
